Hey, you're really gonna want to check out this band "Old and in the Way" that Jerry and David had with Vassar Clements and Peter Rowan (both former bluegrass boys with Bill Monroe).

There are a few acoustic GD shows with David Nelson (new riders of the purple sage) on mandolin. But IIRC, these are pretty poor sound quality. If you really want good acoustic dead, pick up the album Reckoning.

The archive isn't the best place for bluegrass music, but there's still some great stuff. The Del McCoury band is hands down the best bluegrass band going, and Ronnie McCoury on the mandolin. You might be interested in the Paper Mill Creek Rounders with David Nelson. Larry Keel is worth checking out.

They say Jerry got the idea of letting people tape Dead shows by seeing the tradition at bluegrass concerts. So thankfully, we have lots of extant recordings of the greats, they're just not on the archive. The real treasure troves of bluegrass on the internet are bluegrassbox.com and thespss.com. Enjoy!
